Keolis Transit America announced the appointment of Stephen W. Shaw as chief operating officer.
“Steve has a proven record of strong leadership, has managed successful operations and has a keen eye for safety innovation, efficiency and profitability,” said Michael Griffus, CEO of Keolis Transit America. “He has been awarded and recognized for his dedication and we look forward to having his leadership, influence and support in moving Keolis forward.”
Shaw has 34 years of experience in the transportation industry with extensive experience in managing and directing operations. He began his career in his family’s business, Shaw Bus Service, operating school buses and motor coaches in Baltimore. He worked in all facets of the business, eventually serving as vice president of operations until the company was acquired by Laidlaw Transit. As regional manager for Laidlaw, he oversaw multiple operating locations and contributed significantly to increases in gross revenue and profitability for the company.
He then went on to serve as regional vice president for Veolia Transportation Services substantially growing his region and successfully leading the largest public to private transportation management conversion in U.S. transit history.
