IL: Ibrahima Toure Promoted to Business Development Director For Veolia Transportation’s Western Region
Dick Alexander, Veolia Transportation’s senior vice president for business development, announced that Ibrahima Toure has been promoted to director for business development for Veolia’s Western Region, effective immediately.
Toure began his transportation career as a bus operator in Denver, Colorado, more than 11 years ago. After joining Veolia Transportation in 2004, starting as a bus operator, he quickly moved up through the ranks, serving as safety and training manager, IT specialist, and assistant general manager for Veolia’s Butte County Association of Governments (BCAG) contract in Chico, Calif. He was promoted to general manager for BCAG in 2010 and was responsible for the fixed route and paratransit operations, overseeing 110 employees and 70 vehicles.
In making the announcement Alexander said, “Ibrahima is an accomplished manager and a great example of the talent Veolia brings to this industry. His experience, customer service focus and dedication to improving public mass transportation will assist existing and future customers in finding new solutions through Veolia’s many services and innovations.” In his new role with business development he will focus on business development activities for Veolia’s western region including new business and renewal of existing business.
Among his many career credits, Toure was named as one of Mass Transit Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2012. He is a 2014 graduate of APTA Leadership and now serves on the APTA Leadership Committee. Toure was also awarded Veolia Transportation’s National Safety Culture Award in 2011. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Networking/Systems Security and a Master’s of Science in Business Administration from Regis University in Denver. He is certified in both paratransit management and operations by the National Transit Institute, and as a bus and paratransit operator trainer by the Transportation Safety Institute. Toure is also a certified project manager through Regis University and a graduate of leadership APTA class of 2013.
