IN: Transpo Launches New Website, New Look
The South Bend Public Transportation Corp. (Transpo) launched a new website and logo.
The new, user-friendly website features a fresh, contemporary look. The rotating home page graphics highlight the “Next Stops” through the community demonstrating the vital connection to work, education, healthcare, recreational and entertainment opportunities provided by public transit. The new website also includes a trip planning component that will go live later this year.
Transpo’s new logo includes an iconic mark with a “T” for Transpo and intersection representing travel. The blue and green colors represent the sky and land, respectively. Attendees at today’s St. Joseph County Chamber of Commerce Salute to Business were able to see Transpo’s new logo on display as part of Transpo’s event sponsorship. An existing Transpo fixed route bus will hit the streets with a new vehicle wrap showcasing the logo on Friday.
In addition to the new logo and website, Transpo recently announced a partnership with the city of South Bend to build a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) facility. The $1.9 million investment will be constructed on Transpo’s current property at 1401 S. Lafayette Blvd. Transpo will begin converting to CNG fueled vehicles with the arrival of 16 new buses later this year.
Transpo is also moving forward with the conversion to designated bus stops. The designated stops will allow for more reliable and efficient service, making the system easier to navigate for both current and future Transpo riders.
“It’s an exciting year for Transpo”, said David Cangany, Transpo general manager. “From the new website and logo to our commitment to alternative fuels, economic development and improved service, we’re positioning ourselves to better serve our community”, continued Cangany.
Cangany and Amy Hill, Transpo marketing and communications Manager, will appear on WNIT’s Experience Michiana with Gordy Young next week to discuss the new look and CNG facility for Transpo.
