The four-year surface transportation reauthorization proposal will address the impending insolvency of the Highway Trust Fund; create jobs and secure our nation’s future as a competitor in the global economy; and work with states and localities on their long-term planning needs.
“Our nation’s economy relies on its roads, bridges, rails and runways. President Obama’s plan to upgrade and modernize these systems is just what the doctor ordered. Our economic future depends on it,” said former Department of Transportation Secretary and Co-Chair of Building America’s Future, Ray LaHood.
