TranSystems is pleased to announce the addition of Neal Forshner to its New York office. Forshner brings more than 40 years of design and construction industry experience, especially in the areas of operations and marketing. In his new role as regional vice president, Forshner will be involved in all aspects of TranSystems' business in the Northeast, including leading all business development strategy and efforts ranging from ports and freight rail to highways and bridges, and airports in the region.
Paul Malir, president and chief operating officer, has been subbing as the Northeast regional vice president during the executive search period. Malir said, “I am thrilled to have Neal on board. Neal brings the entire package to our Northeast Region — experience, leadership, client and industry expertise, and a phenomenal business sense. He has the knowledge to bring an entirely new strategy to our Northeast region, but in particular brings knowledge of the New York and New Jersey locations that is second to none. I am anxious to look back on this point in time several years from now and see the positive impact he has had on the region.”
Forshner comes to TranSystems from a global architecture, engineering, design and construction firm where he served as senior vice president directing the 3,000-member technical staff and reorganizing the functions associated with all technical operations to develop a more streamlined and profitable structure. He also served as a client account manager for many agencies through the New York area.
Forshner said, “I am excited and extremely happy for this new opportunity at TranSystems, a firm large enough to be a major player in the industry, yet focused on personalized attention and employee success. When I decided to make a change, TranSystems fit my desired requirements perfectly.”
Forshner holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, and a Master’s of Science in urban planning from New York University in New York, New York. He is the incoming chairman of the American Council of Engineering Companies New York Metro, and is active with the American Society of Civil Engineers and the New York Building Congress.
