Ravi Gundimeda has been named a senior planner, traffic, in the San Francisco office of Parsons Brinckerhoff.
In his new position, Gundimeda will manage traffic engineering projects in the San Francisco region. He has extensive experience in project management, design, planning, and construction management for transportation, including HOV and express lanes, integrated corridor management, traffic management center operations, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
Prior to joining Parsons Brinckerhoff, he was a project manager with Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), responsible for design, operation, and maintenance of HOV lanes, traffic engineering, and ITS projects. At DART, he also served the role of Integrated Corridor Management Coordinator for a U.S. Department of Transportation project on US 75 in Dallas that utilized ITS to manage congestion on freeways, arterial roadways, DART’s park-and- ride lots, and DART’s light rail system.
Gundimeda received a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Lafayette and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Osmania University in India. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, ITS America, and serves on several committees of the Transportation Research Board.
