WURTA Chair Crystal Martin and WURTA Legislative Chair Greg Seubert have issued the following public statement after a Nov. 17 meeting of the organization’s board of directors.
“Secretary Mark Gottlieb has listened to the enthusiastic support for public transit at dozens of hearings and town hall meetings organized to solicit public input on the critical issues facing our Wisconsin transportation system. WURTA is greatly encouraged by the Secretary’s budget submission, which we are pleased to say also reflects many of the Wisconsin Commission on Transportation Finance and Policy findings for legislative action.”
“WURTA will be an enthusiastic partner working with the Wisconsin Department of Administration, Governor Walker, and our Legislature as the budget process unfolds. WURTA looks forward to the very serious debate on long-term sustainable funding solutions for Wisconsin’s public transportation systems.”
