America’s leading organizations representing the full spectrum of business, labor, and public policy announced that Infrastructure Week will be held May 11-15.
Building on the momentum of 2014’s successful series of events, workshops, and paper releases, Infrastructure Week 2015 will bring together stakeholders in Washington and around the country to highlight the critical importance of investing in and modernizing America’s infrastructure systems, which are essential to our economy. Our outdated roads, bridges, ports, airports, water, energy, and broadband systems remain a drag on our national recovery – and present a once-in-a-generation opportunity to drive job and wage growth, manufacturing, trade, and global competitiveness.
“Building America’s Future is excited to again be on the steering committee for Infrastructure Week. Infrastructure Week always brings together a diverse group of stakeholders in the infrastructure and transportation conversation, and the conversation about modernizing our infrastructure and transportation systems is one America needs to have,” said Marcia Hale, president of Building America’s Future.
During Infrastructure Week 2015, organizations, business leaders, civic groups, and others will converge to amplify common goals through events, focused media attention, and advocacy at the Federal, State, and Local levels. The week will focus on the consequences of inaction and the importance of infrastructure in providing a safe, reliable, secure and competitive environment for individuals and businesses nationwide.
