Bowen Re-Elected to Georgia Transportation Board
State Transportation Board (STB) Member Rudy Bowen, of Suwanee, was unanimously re-elected to a full board term Feb. 18 by a caucus of state representatives and senators from the Seventh Congressional District (CD7).
Originally elected in 2007, Bowen will begin his second full five-year term on the board in April representing the constituents of CD7. Bowen previously served as the chair of the State Transportation Board.
Bowen, a Georgia native born in Atlanta, built a successful career as a developer and home builder in the metropolitan area. He also serves on the boards of Emory Johns Creek, the Brand Bank and Deacons of Johns Creek Baptist Church and is active with Shepherd Spinal Center, Children’s Healthcare and the Gwinnett Childrens Shelter. Bowen and his wife, Jean, have three children and eight grandchildren.
Bowen thanked the legislators in CD7 for their confidence in re-electing him to represent them on the State Transportation Board. “My commitment is to continue to work hard for you and the state of Georgia to keep improving our transportation network. I pledge to spend the next five years actively seeking solutions and ways to ensure that Georgia remains a top ranked state for transportation and economic development.”
