The 11th Hour Project Launches Just Transit SF Challenge

Sept. 15, 2015

The 11th Hour Project announced that registration is open for the Just Transit SF challenge.  More than ever, the city by the bay needs cohesive, trustworthy, emissions-reducing transportation that is accessible to all San Franciscans.  Just Transit SF was designed in consultation with key public and private stakeholders in the San Francisco transit sector.

Just Transit SF is a great opportunity for transit enthusiasts and entrepreneurs, transportation and urban planners, university students and professors, civil engineers and community organizers, Muni and BART riders, to submit their solutions for a more efficient and equitable San Francisco transit system. Everyone is invited to participate and the top three solutions will win the funds to take their ideas to the streets.

Just Transit SF will award the top transit solutions - to be implemented by November 2017 - in each of the three awards levels; $25,000, $50,000, $125,000. Entrants will apply to the appropriate award level based on the anticipated costs of implementing their solution.  Winning solutions will make San Francisco transit cleaner, increase access to reliable and cost-effective transportation, leverage existing infrastructure, and work with a partner organization to implement the solution by November 2017.
