Port Authority to Promote 79 Officers

The Port Authority Police Department will promote 79 of its uniformed officers to higher ranks during a ceremony Jan. 8, at St. Peter’s University, MacMahon Student Center in Jersey City.
During the 10 a.m. ceremony, Raymond Bryan will be promoted to deputy chief and Ronald Shindel will be promoted to deputy inspector. The remaining 77 officers will be promoted to the ranks of detective lieutenant (2); detective sergeant (4); lieutenant (18); sergeant (41) and detective (12). The promotions will backfill the 87 supervisory officers who retired since the department’s last round of promotions.
