Edmonds Community College students and staff will have a shorter walk to campus if they take Swift bus rapid transit. The new Swift College station opened today on southbound Highway 99 & 204th Street SW, just two blocks from the school.

“We are constantly seeking ways to expand and improve our transit network,” said Community Transit CEO Emmett Heath. “This new Swift College Station will have an immediate benefit for college students and staff, as well as all 5,500 people who ride Swift every day.”

“We’re excited to expand our partnership with Community Transit,” said Edmonds Community College President Dr. Jean Hernandez. “We’re hopeful that the new Swift bus stop will allow our students, employees, and the community quicker and safer access to campus.”

Heath, Hernandez and Lynnwood Mayor Nicola Smith formally cut the ribbon at 11 a.m. on the newest and final station on the Swift bus rapid transit line along Highway 99. Swift buses began serving the station shortly afterward. Here is a video of today's ribbon cutting ceremony.
