Bus Detours and Hollywood/Highland Station to Close During The Oscars
The 88th Annual Academy Awards will be held at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood on Sunday, Feb. 28 and several Metro Bus Lines are already on detour schedules while preparations continue for the ceremony.
Metro Bus Lines 212, 217 and 780 are detouring along Hollywood Boulevard between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive through 6 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, or when barricades are removed by the city of Los Angeles.
Metro Red Line subway trains are slated to run per regular schedule but will bypass Hollywood/Highland Station from open to close Sunday, Feb 28. The last southbound train to downtown Los Angeles departs North Hollywood Station on Sunday at 2:51 a.m. The last northbound train on Sunday departs Union Station at 2:19 a.m. Red Line trains will resume stops to Hollywood/Highland Station at start of service Monday, Feb 29.
There will also be no public access to the station. Customers are encouraged to use Hollywood/Vine Station as an alternate and transfer by bus or walk. More buses are expected to detour leading up to Oscar Sunday.

Northbound: Regular route to La Brea Ave. and Fountain Ave. then continue via LA Brea Ave. to (R) Sunset Blvd., (L) Highland Ave, (R) Hollywood Blvd. and regular route.
Southbound: Regular route to Hollywood Blvd. and Las Palmas Ave. then continue via Hollywood Blvd. to (L) Highland Ave, (R) Sunset Blvd., (L) La Brea Ave. and regular route.
Line 217
Northbound: Regular route to Hollywood Blvd. and Fuller Ave. then continue via Hollywood Blvd. to R- La Brea Ave., L-Sunset Blvd., L-Highland Ave., R-Hollywood Blvd. and regular route.
Southbound: Regular route to Hollywood Blvd. and La Palmas Ave. then continue via Hollywood Blvd. to L-Highland Ave., R-Sunset Blvd., R-La Brea Ave., L-Hollywood Blvd and regular route.
Line 780
Eastbound: Regular route to Fairfax Ave. and Santa Monica Blvd. then continue via Fairfax Ave. to (R) Sunset Blvd., (L) Highland Ave, (R) Hollywood Blvd. and regular route.
Westbound: Regular route to Hollywood Blvd. and Argyle Ave. then continue via Hollywood Blvd. to (L) Highland Ave, (R) Sunset Blvd., (L) Fairfax Ave. and regular route.
