The last of five public meetings on Albuquerque Rapid Transit will be Thursday night, March 3 at the Alice K. Hoppes African American Pavilion on the Expo New Mexico grounds at San Pedro and Copper NE. It is located at the eastern edge of Main Street on the fairgrounds, across from the Pavilion Stage. The meeting will run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The purpose of these public meetings is to provide the final designs for ART, developed over five years. Through 22 large, public meetings and more than 6,600 face-to-face discussions with individual stakeholders, the ART team has received input that shaped the overall design. As we move into the construction development phase, we would like to hear people’s specific concerns about construction and ideas you may have that we can include in the construction.

The project team will provide a project overview, including a video presentation, before gathering in working groups to discuss specific concerns about construction. A facilitator will be available at each table to help participants develop a list of concerns and potential solutions. The purpose of the group format is to provide a better opportunity for all voices to be heard and to answer questions. Input compiled by each working groups will be posted on the project website with responses from the ART team.

A special Albuquerque Rapid Transit public meeting will also be held on Tuesday, March, 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kiva Auditorium in the Albuquerque Convention Center. This meeting has been organized specifically to let people ask questions and voice opinions about the project. To accommodate as many people as possible, people will be limited to two minutes to voice their opinions. Parking will be free in the underground parking lot at Civic Plaza from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for citizens attending the ART public meeting.
