Mountain Line Seeks Public Comment on Two Projects

At the Northern Arizona Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority’s (NAIPTA) board meeting on March 23 the agency will hold two public hearings to open a public comment period on two important agency projects.

At the Northern Arizona Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority’s (NAIPTA) board meeting on March 23 the agency will hold two public hearings to open a public comment period on two important agency projects.

Members of the public are invited to attend the public hearings, or provide comments on the proposed projects. The hearings will be held at the NAIPTA offices at 3773 N. Kaspar Dr. at 10 a.m. on March 23. At the conclusion of the hearings to open the public comment periods, comments may be submitted in the following ways:

One public hearing will be to open a public comment period related to proposed Mountain Line service changes to take effect on August 7, 2016. These include:

  • Extended Friday and Saturday service hours on Route 2, with service ending around 12:30 a.m. both nights.
  • Extended Friday and Saturday service hours on Route 10, with service ending around 12:30 a.m. on both nights.
  • Reconfiguring Route 2 to better serve Flagstaff Medical Center by moving the northbound stop (Stop 4) from San Francisco St. to Beaver St.
  • Increased frequency on Route 10 during NAU semester breaks.
  • Addition of weekend service on Route 5.

The second public hearing will be to open a public comment period related to NAIPTA’s request for grant funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation to continue operation of a Vanpool Program within northern Arizona.
