Nashville MTA System Changes Go Into Effect March 27

Customers utilizing Nolensville Pike buses now have a new option for traveling the busy corridor. A new service, Bus Rapid Transit lite (BRT lite), will be available beginning Sunday, March 27 as part of the Nashville MTA’s biannual system improvements.

Route 52 Nolensville Pike BRT lite will operate on Nolensville Pike and offer more frequent service with fewer stops. All buses serve Nolensville Pike between Downtown and Harding Place with branches to Hickory Plaza and Wallace/Ezell. On weekdays, buses will run every 10 minutes during rush hours, every 15 minutes midday, and every 20 minutes nights and weekends.

To assist customers with the changes, Customer Care personnel will set up an Information Desk at Music City Central (MCC) from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 23-25. In addition, MTA/RTA has published a Summary of Changes brochure that is available on the MTA and RTA websites, at MCC, and on the buses.

The new schedules will be placed online the week of March 21 and will also be distributed later that week to various display locations around town, including Music City Central (400 Charlotte Ave.)

For more detailed information, customers should review the route schedules or call Customer Care at (615) 862-5950 from 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. on weekdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sundays.

Spring 2016 Summary of Changes

The following information includes other service changes effective Sunday, March 27. Please check the new route schedules for complete route information since this is only a summary of the spring changes. The new schedules will be available online on Monday, March 21, and in the displays at Music City Central the same week.

1 100 Oaks

The routing downtown has changed.
Buses traveling to downtown on 6^th Avenue will turn left on Lafayette Street and continue through the roundabout to the second exit; go right on 8^th Avenue, continue on Rosa L. Parks, right on Charlotte and left on 5^th Avenue to Music City Central.
Buses traveling from downtown will turn left on 5^th Avenue, right on Charlotte, left on 7^th Avenue, right on Commerce Street, left on Rosa L. Parks, continue on 8^th Avenue and continue through the roundabout to the second exit; go right on Lafayette Street and right on 6^th Avenue to the current route.
There are several weekday time adjustments.

2 Belmont

There are several weekday time adjustments, especially in the afternoon.

4 Shelby

An early morning weekday trip departing Greenfield/Kroger has been added.
A bus will depart Greenfield/Kroger at 4:40 a.m., stop at Porter and Greenwood at 4:47 a.m., Shelby and South 19^th Street at 4:54 a.m. and arrive at Music City Central at 5:10 a.m.
The bus that departs Shelby and South 19^th Street at 2:12 p.m. now originates at Music City Central Bay 14 at 2 p.m.

6 Lebanon Pike

The routing to downtown has changed.
Buses traveling to downtown on Broadway will turn right on 2^nd Avenue, left on Union and right on 5^th Avenue to Music City Central.
Service has been added on Saturdays from 6:30 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.
Saturday buses will depart from Bay 7 at Music City Central.
There are several time adjustments.

7 Hillsboro

A weekday trip departing Music City Central at 5:15 a.m. has been added.
A bus will depart Music City Central Bay 9 at 5:15 a.m., stop at 21^st and Blakemore at 5:28 a.m. and arrive at Hillsboro Road at Hillsboro High School at 5:39 a.m.

10 Charlotte

A weekday trip departing Music City Central at 5:15 a.m. has been added.
A bus will depart Music City Central Bay 3 at 5:15 a.m., stop at 20th and Church at 5:26 a.m., 28th/31st Connector at 5:30 a.m., 46th/Richland Park at 5:34 a.m., White Bridge at 5:38 a.m., Premier and American at 5:42 a.m., Annex at 5:45 a.m. and arrive at Walmart at 5:52 a.m.

12 Nolensville Pike

This route has been replaced with the new Route 52 Nolensville Pike BRT lite.
Service to Grassmere is now provided by Route 72 Grassmere/Edmondson Connector.

14 Whites Creek

There are significant weekday afternoon time adjustments, especially in the afternoon.

15 Murfreesboro Pike

A new early morning round-trip has been added on weekdays.
A bus will depart Hickory Hollow at 4:21 a.m., stop at Bell Road at 4:29 a.m., Donelson Pike/Dell Parkway at 4:37 a.m., Thompson Lane at 4:45 a.m., Wharf at 4:56 a.m. and arrive at Music City Central at 5:10 a.m.
A bus will depart Music City Central Bay 17 at 5:15 a.m., stop at Wharf at 5:25 a.m., Thompson Lane at 5:36 a.m., Donelson/Dell Parkway at 5:43 a.m., Bell Road at 5:51 a.m. and arrive at Hickory Hollow at 5:59 a.m.

18 Airport/Downtown Hotels

Buses will travel the local route from downtown on certain evening and weekend trips.

19 Herman

An early morning round-trip has been added on weekdays
A bus will depart Tennessee and 51^st at 4:39 a.m., stop at 44^th and Albion at 4:43 a.m., Metro General Hospital at 4:57 a.m. and arrive at Music City Central at 5:10 a.m.
A bus will depart Music City Central Bay 4 at 5:15 a.m., stop at Metro General Hospital at 5:26 a.m., Pearl-Cohn Entertainment Magnet School at 5:30 a.m., 44^th and Albion at 5:40 a.m. and arrive at Tennessee and 51^st at 5:43 a.m.

22 Bordeaux

An early morning weekday trip departing Bordeaux Long-Term Care has been added.
A bus will depart Bordeaux Long-Term Care at 4:38 a.m., stop on the Panorama Loop at 4:45 a.m., Clarksville and 23^rd at 4:54 a.m. and arrive at Music City Central at 5:10 a.m.

23 Dickerson Road

An early morning round-trip has been added on weekdays.
A bus will depart Walmart at 4:27 a.m., stop at Brick Church and Ewing at 4:40 a.m. , Dickerson and Trinity Lane at 4:54 a.m., North 1st and Spring at 5:01 a.m. and arrive at Music City Central at 5:10 a.m.
A bus will depart Music City Central Bay 24 at 5:20 a.m., stop at North 1st and Spring at 5:26 a.m., Dickerson and Trinity Lane at 5:33 a.m., Brick Church and Ewing at 5:43 a.m. and arrive at Walmart at 5:57 a.m.

24X Bellevue Express

This route has weekday time changes.

25 Midtown

Route has been modified at 1st Avenue/Trimble and Chestnut. Buses no longer serve the loop on Trimble/Lewis/Hart/1^st Avenue. Buses continue straight on Chestnut in both directions.
Route has been modified near Centennial Medical Center. Buses traveling via Hart Street on Murphy will continue on Murphy to 23rd Avenue, turn right on 23rd Avenue and right on Charlotte to the current route. Buses traveling north toward the hospital on D.B. Todd at Hermosa, turn left on Hermosa and right on 21st Avenue to the current route.
Route has been modified near Centennial Medical Center. Buses traveling via Jo Johnston on Charlotte will turn left on 23^rd Avenue, left on Murphy and right on 21^st Avenue to the current route.
Route has been modified downtown. Buses traveling via Jo Johnston on Broadway will turn right on 2nd Avenue, left on Union, right on 3rd Avenue, left on James Robertson Parkway and left on 4th Avenue to Music City Central.

26 Gallatin Pike

27 Old Hickory

Route has been modified between Nestor Street and Music City Central. Buses traveling to downtown on Broadway will turn right on 2^nd Avenue, left on Union and right on 5^th Avenue to Music City Central.

36X Madison Express

Route has been modified between Nestor Street and Music City Central. Buses traveling to downtown on Broadway will turn right on 2^nd Avenue, left on Union and right on 5^th Avenue to Music City Central.

37X Tusculum/McMurray Express

This route has weekday time changes.

38X Antioch Express

This route has weekday time changes.

43 Hickory Hills

50 Charlotte Pike BRT lite

52 Nolensville Pike BRT lite (New)

This route will operate on Nolensville Pike and offer more frequent service with fewer stops for faster trips to and from downtown.
All buses serve Nolensville Pike between Downtown and Harding Place with branches to Hickory Plaza (52A) and Wallace/Ezell (52B).
Buses will only stop at the 21 designated BRT lite stops.
On weekdays, buses will run every 10 minutes during rush hours, every 15 minutes midday, and every 20 minutes nights and weekends.
The Wallace Loop routing has changed. Buses traveling on this loop will now continue to the Sheriff’s Correctional Complex.
Buses for this route will depart from Bay 19 at Music City Central.

55 Murfreesboro Pike BRT lite

72 Edmondson Pike Connector

This route has been renamed Grassmere/Edmondson Connector.
Service will be provided to Grassmere Business Park and Nippers Corner.
The transfer point to Route 52 Nolensville Pike BRT lite is located at Walmart.
Service will operate every 30 to 60 minutes on weekdays and hourly on weekends.
Additional service to this area is now provided on the new Route 52 Nolensville Pike BRT lite.
