TX: High Demand, Customer Feedback Drive Upcoming Service Updates

June 6, 2016
Demand for Metro service is increasing along several commuter and local routes. To meet that demand, Metro is making service adjustments.

Demand for Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (Metro) service is increasing along several commuter and local routes. To meet that demand, Metro is making service adjustments. The updates, slated to start Sunday, June 5, 2016, will give Park & Ride commuters on the Cypress, Kingsland, Grand Parkway and West Bellfort routes more trips to their work destinations.  Visually impaired riders will find improved access with the re-route of the 41 Kirby/ Polk to the Lighthouse of Houston. Meanwhile, riders on the popular 4 Beechnut will have extra "elbow" room thanks to more frequent westbound service.

Route 38 Manchester

The addition of Route 38, a pilot program, designed to provide service from the Manchester/Lawndale area to the Magnolia Transit Center will begin in early July.  Details on the launch will be shared later this month.
