NEC Features Innovative Transportation Solutions at the LTA-UITP SITCE
NEC Asia Pacific recently announced its participation in the LTA-UITP Singapore International Transport Congress and Exhibition 2016 (SITCE). The event is held from 19-21 October 2016 at the Suntec International Convention & Exhibition Centre, Hall 401,402,403, Level 4, Booth E23.
With rapid urbanization comes the need for cities and stakeholders to provide better connectivity and safe transport systems for commuters. NEC will showcase how its suite of transportation solutions for bus and railway harness the power of big data and modern transit management tools to improve the quality of experience for commuters. As a result, it aims to increase service efficiency for transport authorities and operators.
“NEC is pleased to showcase our innovative transportation technologies and solutions which aim to provide a more efficient way to create a safer and seamless journey for commuters. We are confident to deliver advanced social infrastructure in urban transport systems and contribute to the safety and security of the nation,” said Tan Boon Chin, managing director, global safety division, NEC Corporation.
Bus Solutions
NEC’s bus solutions leverage on telematics and fleet management systems built into the IT infrastructure to enhance bus service excellence and operations. Solutions to be featured include NEC’s Automated Fare Collection (AFC) System, E-paper Passenger Information System (PIS) and Transit Management System (TMS), among others.
NEC has an established track record of providing transport operators such as bus and railway with AFC systems leveraged by contactless smart cards equipped with IC chips. The systems realize accurate and reliable fare collection. NEC enables large scale AFC usage with clearing and interoperability. Another highlight is the driver profiling system which provides a comprehensive approach to monitor, manage, train and develop bus professionals with operational and industry-specific competencies.
Using deep and insightful analytics, TMS offers a comprehensive and intuitive real time system for fleet and route management. It further provides information for fleet performance statistics and accurate estimation of arrival times (ETA).
Railway Communication & Security
NEC’s innovative railway solution consisting of a station-and-train-borne video surveillance system focuses on real-time monitoring with central viewing and archival functions, and is also primed to support video analytics, man-search and other advanced capabilities. During emergency situations, a portable video viewing kit may be deployed to obtain live or recorded videos from any train through cellular networks.
Another key highlight is NEC’s No.1* rated face recognition technology, NeoFace Watch, which is a high performance, highly scalable face recognition software application providing the most accurate and fastest results for most demanding real-time facial matching and post-event face recognition matching. Offline video face search and high volume photo face search. Multiple alert options are available.
Smart Command Center
NEC’s Smart Command Center (SSC) provides AI-based technologies to provide a holistic approach to demand matching, demand prediction and operation optimization for reliable and convenient rides. SCC helps operators to react timely to predicted changes in passenger demand and travel time, while continuously optimizing their schedules in real-time.
Takuya Mori, senior manager, NEC Laboratories Singapore, will speak on the topic of “Enhance Mass Transportation Using Raw Mobility Data” on 19 October, 11.15am – 12.45pm (Conference Hall 405 & 406, Level 4).
