Santa Claus is coming to town on the Greater Dayton RTA’s holiday bus, and riders are able to track his progress with RTA RideTime.

RTA will demonstrate its holiday spirit again this year by putting a holiday-themed bus into service throughout the month of December. The bus will make its debut in the Dayton Children’s Parade downtown on November 25.

This year’s theme is “Santa is coming to town with RideTime.” It features Santa holding a smartphone with Transit app—one of 4 new products RTA is rolling out to the public that will allow riders to track their next bus live. RideTime launches to the public on December 6 with a special media event and product demonstration.

The festive theme continues inside the holiday bus, where riders will be treated to candy canes, a lighted Christmas tree and holiday music throughout the season.

Following the parade, the holiday bus will make appearances throughout the Dayton area, switching routes daily.

“This is a decades-long tradition and our passengers really enjoy the holiday bus,” said Jessica Olson, communications manager. “We’re proud to be able to spread the holiday spirit across the Miami Valley with our bus. This year, thanks to our RideTime technology, riders will also be able to track the bus and see what stop it’ll be at next.”
