TransIT Announces 2017 Drivers of the Year
TransIT Services of Frederick County announced and awarded their annual Driver of the Year awards to one Fixed Route driver and one Paratransit driver. The “Fixed Route Driver of the Year” is Lori Wisner and the “Paratransit Driver of the Year” is Dave Downs. Drivers are selected based on their safe driving records, exceptional attendance, positive attitude, outstanding teamwork, and excellent customer service skills.
Wisner was recognized for her willingness to help peers, dependability, and knowledge of TransIT’s systems and operations. Co-workers commonly stated that “Lori is always willing to go the extra mile and she is an asset to TransIT.”
Downs was recognized by co-workers for his dedication, positive attitude, and willingness to help cover open shifts. Co-workers stated that Dave, “is always pleasant and is a nice person to be around. He is very good with customers and helps out wherever needed.”
In recognition for being selected as "Driver of The Year," Lori Wisner and Dave Downs each received a commemorative plaque and celebration with peers. Both drivers will be recognized in a bus advertisement and will be nominated for the Transportation Association of Maryland’s (TAM) annual driver of the year award in September. Wisner and Downs are part of the outstanding team of dedicated professional drivers that provides quality service when transporting Frederick County citizens.
