TRB's Six-Minute Pitch Startup Competition to be Held January 9
Jan. 4, 2018
This year’s teams will be pitching exciting new ideas about innovative transit systems, traffic management, and traveler information to an esteemed judging panel.
The Six Minute Pitch: A Transportation Startup Challenge is a special Young Member Council session at the Transportation Research Board 2018 Annual Meeting during which selected presenters pitch their cutting-edge, research-based concept for a transportation product- or service-based business to a panel of distinguished transportation industry investors and entrepreneurs in just six minutes. It's basically the transportation industry's national version of Shark Tank, Startup Battlefield, or Dragons' Den.
The 2018 Six Minute Pitch will take place Tuesday, January 9th at 1:30 p.m. in the Washington Convention Center, Salon B. This year’s teams will be pitching exciting new ideas about innovative transit systems, traffic management, and traveler information to an esteemed judging panel including Sean O’Sullivan of SOSVentures, Gabe Klein of Fontinalis Partners and CityFi, and David Zipper of German Marshall Fund and 1776. Since its inception in 2013, the Six Minute Pitch has grown every year to become one of the most well-attended sessions of the TRB Annual Meeting. This year is expected to be the biggest event yet, so interested attendees should plan to arrive early.
