DE: DART Offers Weekend Beach Bus Service First Three Weekends in May
Delaware Transit Corp. is starting its Beach Bus service early this season, providing weekend bus service on two of its popular bus routes for the first three weekends in May. Starting Saturday, May 5, bus service will be available in the areas of Downtown Lewes, Cape May Lewes Ferry Terminal, along the DE Route 1 corridor to the Rehoboth Boardwalk. The early start-up will provide greater access to jobs, shopping, and entertainment until the daily Beach Bus begins operations on Monday, May 21.
Beach Bus 201 – Red Line provides service between DART’s Lewes Park & Ride, located just south of Five Points, along DE Route 1 corridor to Tanger Outlets, Rehoboth Park & Ride and the Rehoboth Boardwalk, operating every 20 minutes from 10 AM to 11 PM. The Lewes Park & Ride offers free parking; Rehoboth Park & Ride is free until May 21.
Beach Bus 204 –Yellow Line operates from the Lewes Park & Ride to Downtown Lewes and the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal. Service operates every 30 minutes from 10 AM to 11 PM.
Fares are $2 per one-way trip; $4.20 for a daily pass.

On Monday, May 21, the Beach Bus services begin operating daily service on seven bus routes serving the Lewes Park & Ride, Rehoboth Beach and the Boardwalk, Lewes, Long Neck, Millsboro, Dewey Beach, Ruddertowne, Bethany Beach, South Bethany Beach, Fenwick Island, and Ocean City, MD. The service operates 7 days a week from approximately 7 AM to 2 AM, with more frequency than ever before. All buses are air-conditioned, ADA accessible and equipped with bike racks. When the daily service ends on September 9, the 201 Red Line and 204 Yellow Line will provide new year-round service.
DART’s Beach Connection, 305 – Magenta Line starts on Saturday, May 26, providing a relaxing ride from Wilmington to Rehoboth Beach on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays through September 3. The fares are $2 per zone; the one-way cash fare is $10 from Wilmington, $8 from Middletown and $6 from Dover. Riders are encouraged to buy a 3-Zone Anywhere pass for $12.60, which can also be used on all Beach Bus services, once at either of the Park & Rides.
