The Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority won their second consecutive Grand Champion award at the 2018 Florida Public Transportation Association Triple Crown Bus Roadeo. For the fifth consecutive year the LYNX maintenance team of Chris Balroop, Harryram Mootoo and Radu Solomon won the state maintenance team championship.
The maintenance squad also won awards for their assessments in electronic controls and air brakes.
Combined with operator Steve Kalicharan’s fourth place finish this is the 11th Grand Champion award for LYNX. Kalicharan won first place in bus pre-trip inspection.
ACCESS LYNX operator Rhoda Scott finished fourth in her division. Angel Melendez, ACCESS LYNX maintenance technician, won the paratransit bus inspection score and third place in the paratransit maintenance division.
Team LYNX, comprised of Balroop, Kalicharan, Mootoo and Solomon, will compete this weekend at the American Public Transportation Association International Roadeo in Tampa, Florida. The maintenance team has won this international award in 2006, 2010 and 2016.
