Monthly food demonstrations are held at the Wellston and North Hanley Transit Centers so Metro riders, nearby residents in the community and others can see how to transform fresh produce and foods purchased at the Link Market into nutritious recipes for themselves and their families, especially for those on fixed incomes. Free samples and copies of the featured recipe are available during the demonstrations.
The fresh food kiosk pilot program is a partnership between the Bi-State Development Research Institute, Metro Transit, the Link Market and the Missouri Foundation for Health, which is funding the program through a grant. Easily accessible by public transit at the North Hanley and Wellston Transit Centers, the Link Market food kiosks offer affordably priced vegetables and fruits and other healthy household staples. The Link Markets are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cash, credit and EBT are accepted.
