TransIT Services of Frederick County encourages residents drop their car keys for a day or two on Friday, September 21st and Saturday, September 22nd for Car Free Days 2018. Car Free Day is an event celebrated internationally to encourage greener methods of transportation while reducing the number of single occupant vehicles on our roadways. By reducing the number of cars on the road, there is less traffic congestion and has an environmental benefit.
In honor of the event, residents are encouraged to take TransIT, the MARC train, telework, carpool or vanpool, or walk or bike to get around on Friday, September 21st and Saturday, September 22nd. To participate in the event and for a chance to win great prizes, riders can take the Car Free Day pledge online.
In honor of the event, TransIT Services of Frederick County will be offering free rides on all TransIT Connectors and Shuttles on Friday, September 21st.
