Welcome to the Friday edition of "Five good things in transit." We'll end the week in the same way we began: with a theme of gratitude. Even with reduced and modified schedules, the continued operation of transit systems throughout North America is providing a level of certainty during uncertain times. And that's good news.
In Richmond, Va., a nice sign to recognize operators in the neighborhood.
COTA employees were treated to pizza courtesy of Kroger and Donato's.
Starbucks Canada provided morning fuel for Toronto Transit Commission's Wilson Division.
Regional Transportation District (RTD) of Denver Platte Division employees received an overload of cuteness courtesy of local kindergartners. Click here to read RTD's blog post about it.
We can't forget the maintenance workers who have worked tirelessly throughout this pandemic to keep each transit system as clean as possible.
To wrap, we turn to the transit associations - APTA, CUTA and UITP - that have been working nonstop throughout this pandemic to advocate on behalf of and support their members.
Thanks for sticking with us throughout the week and we hope this series helped add some levity to your day.
