Five Good Things in Transit for April 24

April 24, 2020
Catch up on the latest good news with #SoundTheHorn, Google Doodles and other things that made us smile.

Quarantine has officially impacted our brains: We missed “Five Good Things” last Friday because we lost track of what day of the week it was. To make it up, we’ve super-sized this week’s edition to incorporate all the ways transit matters and all the big and small gestures of gratitude.

We’ve highlighted face coverings before in our weekly highlights, but as more mandates roll out across communities requiring their use, masks have become not only a necessity, but fashionable, as well.

#SoundTheHorn on April 16 was a coordinated effort to give two toots for transit. There were a lot of great posts from the event, but this one had the most variety of horns.

Transit driver appreciation was made into a Google Doodle. Even more than a week later, we still love looking at it.

From major news networks to school children’s notebooks, saying “thank you” to transit operators is a trend we hope never goes away.

While messages are wonderful, expressions of gratitude in a more consumable format are also great.

Finally, many transit riders continue to stay home, but if you need to scratch that commuting itch, may we suggest something like this:
