APTA TRANSform & EXPO moving to Orlando in November 2021
The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) is moving and rescheduling its fall gathering. APTA’s TRANSform Conference & EXPO 2021 will be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., Nov. 7-10, 2021.
APTA said the relocation decision from Anaheim to Orlando “was necessary due to current California restrictions on large gatherings and the unpredictability of planning such a large event when it is unclear when these restrictions will ease.” The association hopes to return to Anaheim for the 2023 gathering.
Additionally, the Orange County Convention Center has achieved Global Biorisk Advisory County (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation, which means it has met and implemented a facility cleaning and disinfection program standard. GBAC recently partnered with UITP to offer the standard to the international transit industry and two U.S. systems, the Central Ohio Transit Authority and Anaheim Transportation Network, have earned the accreditation.
“As we continue our planning efforts, please know that the health, well-being, and safety of our attendees and exhibitors is our top priority. We will be working closely with the Orange County Convention Center and conference hotels to ensure all health and safety guidelines and procedures are in place,” APTA said in an email to association members. “We look forward to welcoming you to APTA’s TRANSform Conference & EXPO 2021 in November in Orlando.”
The association said additional information on hotels, exhibitor floorplans and registration will be available soon.
