Mass Transit’s editorial team has earned national and global honors in 2021 in four contests focused on business-to-business journalism. These competitions are judged by fellow journalists who evaluate teams based on impact, clarity and integrity.
The American Society of Business Publication Editors recognized Mass Transit Assistant Editor Megan Perrero with a National Silver Azbee Award of Excellence, as well as a Regional Gold Azbee Award, for “It Takes a Village,” a profile of Via Metropolitan Transit in San Antonio, Texas.
Mass Transit’s news coverage of the public industry’s fight for emergency funding in 2020 was awarded a Regional Silver Azbee Award. The news coverage on the same topic was also named a finalist in the Jesse H. Neal Awards from the Software & Information Industry Association and a finalist in the Folio: Eddie and Ozzie Awards.
Sticking with the Folio: Eddie and Ozzie Awards, Mass Transit’s June 2020 issue took home top honors in the Full Issue, B2B, Travel/Transportation category.
The cover story from the June 2020 issue, “Mobility Redefined” by Mischa Wanek-Libman, was recognized as one of the Top 25 Feature Articles, coming in at #16, from the Trade Association Business Publications International 2021 Tabbie Awards.
“During this time of uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was and continues to be a need for quality journalism as transit industry professionals push toward recovery,” said Mischa Wanek-Libman, executive editor. “I’m proud the efforts of the magazine’s small team have been recognized by our peers. We are grateful to be a trusted daily resource for the transit industry and will continue to strive toward a high standard with our coverage.”
