Metro has appointed two executives to top positions in the organization: Lou Ann Hock as chief financial officer and Inez Evans as chief operations officer. Both report to Metro's CEO, Terry Garcia Crews.
Lou Ann Hock: Hock is responsible for Metro's $85.5 million annual operating budget, capital program, grants administration, fuel hedging and investments. The Controller and Accounting & Budget report to her. With more than 30 years of transit experience, including 11 years in executive transit finance, Hock has served as Metro's interim chief financial officer since August 2010.
Hock worked at Professional Transit Management, where she was the chief financial officer. She started her transit career in St. Louis, with Rustman Bus Co. and at Ryder Student Transportation, where she served as the regional vice president. She resides in Pierce Township in Clermont County.
Inez Evans: Evans is responsible for all Metro fixed-route and Access paratransit bus operations, fleet maintenance and facilities, representing about 674 employees. The directors of Transit Operations, Fleet & Facilities, and ADA & Paratransit Services report to her.
With more than 20 years of experience in transit, Evans has served as the director of paratransit at Star Tran, Inc., a service provider to Capital Metropolitan Transportation, in Austin, Texas; general manager at Veolia Transportation in San Jose, Calif.; and regional vice president with MV Transportation in Fairfield, Calif. with contract responsibilities of $50 Million, and director of transportation for MARTA where she oversaw 1,300 fixed-route transit employees and an operating budget of $95 million.
Evans started her transit career in Bremerton Washington with Kitsap Transit as a customer service rep. Evans worked with Laidlaw Transit Services, Inc., in Martinez, Calif., as the district manager and general manager. In addition to many other transit and community memberships and boards, she is a member of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials and the American Public Transportation Association's Leadership APTA. Evans lives in Florence, Ky.
Metro is a non-profit, tax-funded public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 17 million rides per year.
