Veolia Transportation Appoints Pulido to Vice President, Business Development
Veolia Senior Vice President of Business Development Dick Alexander announced the appointment of Rick Pulido to Vice President of Business Development. Rick will prepare business proposals for new potential contracts for Veolia, and assist in developing entrepreneurial business opportunities.
When making this appointment, Alexander noted Pulido's rich background in business development and operations. "Rick has spent his career developing expertise in every aspect of our business. He began as a General Manager responsible for day-to-day operations, and ascended to Region Vice President at First Transit then to the Director of Business Development. Rick's decades of experience will help us deliver greater value to our new and existing clients."
Rick has worked at First Transit since 1986. After ten years as General Manager in Loredo, Texas he became General Manager in Corpus Christi, Texas where he was responsible for managing a budget of nearly $3 million per year. In 2000 he moved to Dallas, Texas to become Assistant General Manager of Operations where he oversaw all day-to-day operations of the Dallas fixed route bus contract. His next stop was San Antonio, Texas where he was Regional Vice President for the South Central region, responsible for operations and administration of contracts representing $100 million in annual revenue. Since 2006 he has been the Director of Business Development for the company, responsible for business strategy, as well as technical and price proposals submitted in response to transit agency requests for fixed route, paratransit and shuttle projects.
Rick earned his BA in Business Administration from the University of Texas and his MBA in International Trade from Texas A&M University (International). He is a past board member of the Texas Transit Association. Awards include the First Transit Ringo Award and the First Transit President's Award.
