Capital Area Transit Releases FY 2014-15 Annual Report

Capital Area Transit released the Fiscal Year 2014-15 Annual Report, “Where CAT Goes, Community Grows,” according to Bill Jones, CAT general manager.

The report provides an overview of CAT developments during the year, including the financial statement, highlights from the year, messages from CAT leadership, CAT funding sources and local share costs for Dauphin and Cumberland Counties and the City of Harrisburg. 

“There were significant improvements in service, operations technology and overall efficiency in 2015,”  Jones said. “We changed routes, provided more service based on public outreach throughout the system, and moved forward with technology upgrades that will improve operational efficiency in keeping with the CAT Strategic Plan.”

CAT instituted a real time technology upgrade throughout the year on all vehicles and officially launched a “Find My CAT Bus” website, which helps transit users find routes, stops and bus estimate arrival times. The technology upgrade took most of 2015 to accomplish, Jones said.

The CAT 2014-15 Annual Report also covers a variety of CAT Facts, interesting factoids about the capital region transit system – for example, in 2015, 242,665 seniors in Cumberland County, the City of Harrisburg and Dauphin County rode a CAT Bus. Another 96,116 riders were transported to Mechanicsburg.
