Planning, engineering and program management firm Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) has announced the opening of its new office in Oakland, CA.
The firm’s new office at 1901 Harrison St, Suite 1100, Oakland, will offer water and transportation services to LAN’s clients in and around the region. David Wemmer, P.E., who recently joined the firm as its California rail and transit director, will be responsible for leading the office.
“Oakland is growing rapidly and is investing heavily in its infrastructure to deal with this growth,” said Wemmer. “This office will allow us to service the needs of our clients from their backyard, become more entrenched in the area, and better support the community. Having grown up in Oakland and being a life-long resident in the Bay Area, I am looking forward to serving our clients and growing the firm’s presence in the region.”
Currently, the firm is working on several projects in California, including serving as the lead designer for the 10-mile VTA/BART Silicon Valley Berryessa Extension in Santa Clara County. LAN is also part of a team providing transit track and general engineering services for the Bay Area Rapid Transit in San Francisco. The firm also provided civil and track design and coordinated project delivery for the recently completed South Sacramento Corridor Phase 2 (Blue Line) Extension.
With this addition, LAN now has 20 offices around the country, including five in California.
