CorpComm Expo (CCE) recently announced that Kelly Hipchen, communications officer of employee communications and engagement for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, will present a case study seminar at 3 p.m. on the first day of the Nov. 15-16, 2016 event at Chicago’s Navy Pier.

The presentation by Hipchen, entitled “Mobilize Employees to Amplify Your Brand Story” will demonstrate how the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation worked across its Global Communications and Engagement function to equip, enable and empower employees to share the foundation’s story through live and digital internal channels.

Attendees will also:

  • Understand the steps taken to build a platform, tools and resources to equip employees with the right information and messages to tell their story.
  • Learn about the shift needed to evolve an employee base that was hesitant to speak on behalf of the organization.
  • Discover how to build and instill trust in employees to use their voice from sharing on social media channels to engaging in the local community, to speaking to influencers and public audiences.

“Our employee communications strategy contributes to the foundation's key priorities as well as critical employee engagement factors by offering opportunities for authentic leadership, peer learning and collaboration, and open dialogue,” Hipchen said. “I work to help employees feel informed about the work of the foundation, connected to the missions and vision, and empowered to share their stories inside and out.”
