The Transportation Association of Maryland (TAM) recently hosted its Annual Conference and Expo, an educational conference for the State's transportation providers, vendors and non-profits. While the event attracted over 150 attendees over several days in Ocean City, the Excellence Awards Ceremony served as a highlight, honoring dedication and innovation within the transportation field in Maryland. Transit Services of Frederick County won two honors: Outstanding Program of the Year and Driver of the Year (Jeffrey Raines); Beverly Walegna of KFH Group (MTA) won the Unsung Hero award while Nicky Pires of the Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland took home the Friend of Transit award. Outstanding Business Partner was awarded to Kingsbury Uniforms. Winners were recognized at a special luncheon during the conference.
TAM's Annual Conference and Expo is considered the premiere conference, networking event, and trade show for Maryland transit providers, human service organizations, and vendors. TAM hosted multiple-day RTAP (Rural Training Assistance Program) sessions, a vendor showcase, general and breakout sessions, and hands-on training along with networking events.
