Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry reappointed Isaiah Rumlin to the Jacksonville Transportation Authority Board of Directors. Rumlin was confirmed by the City Council at their October 11 meeting.  He was appointed to the Authority’s Board in 2012 by Mayor Alvin Brown.  Rumlin previously served on the JTA Board from 1987 to 1991.

“We are very pleased that Mayor Curry reappointed Isaiah Rumlin to the Board of Directors.” said JTA CEO Nathaniel P. Ford, Sr. “The JTA is grateful for his commitment and contributions to the Authority and look forward to his continued leadership.”

Rumlin is the managing member of Rumlin Insurance Agency, the oldest minority-owned property and casualty agency in Duval County. In addition to operating his agency, Rumlin currently serves as president of the NAACP Jacksonville, and has greatly increased the branch’s capacity to impact issues related to education, crime and the economy, as well as the mobilization and registration of voters.  He was invited to the White House in 2012 for a forum on “Jobs and the Florida Economy”.

Rumlin earned his Bachelor Degree from Florida A&M University and with a zeal for entrepreneurship began his career as a Financial Specialist with the State of Florida Insurance Department in 1973.

“We are appreciative of Isaiah’s leadership role in the community and dedication to the Authority,” said current JTA Chairman Scott L. McCaleb. “He currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board.  Isaiah also chaired the Skyway Subcommittee and Skyway Advisory Group, which lead to an initiative to create a Skyway Modernization Plan.”
