VHB has announced that Majid Hedayati, PE, has been hired vice president and northeast regional transportation managing director based in New York City.
Hedayati is overseeing VHB’s expanding transportation practice in the New York metro area, supporting the delivery of the firm’s integrated services approach across the region, and further building VHB’s relationships with public and private clients. Hedayati’s background in the transportation industry spans 30 years—most recently he directed local, regional, and international transportation efforts for a major engineering consulting firm.
Hedayati’s experience includes the successful execution of major roadway, highway, bridge, transit/rail, and infrastructure projects, such as the multi-billion-dollar LIRR East Side Access and JFK Airport AirTrain projects.
“Majid brings a proven record of delivering large-scale, complex transportation projects in major metropolitan areas. He will add senior-level oversight, market connectivity, and strategic direction to our expanding transportation practice in New York,” said Mike McArdle, senior vice president and national transportation market lead. “He understands transportation, knows the New York City market, and will take an active role in helping our clients improve mobility throughout the region.”
Hedayati is a past state board member for ACEC New York and a current member of the New York Building Congress Transportation Industry Committee and APTA Capital Projects Committee.
