Robert Friedmann Appointed New Member of ZF Friedrichshafen AG's Supervisory Board

ZF Friedrichshafen AG's annual general meeting has appointed Chairman of the Central Managing Board of the Würth Group Robert Friedmann to a position in its Supervisory Board. Friedmann will take up the position on January 1, 2017. The 50-year-old will take over from former Chief Executive Officer Hans-Georg Härter. Härter had been a member of the Supervisory Board since 2013 and resigned from his position in August 2016. 

Chairman of the ZF Supervisory Board Professor Giorgio Behr pointed out: "We have gained an experienced top manager for the ZF Supervisory Board in Robert Friedmann. He has many years of experience in managing a globally successful company." Friedmann began working at the Würth Group, world market leader in the trade in assembly and fastening materials, in 1992. He assumed a position on the Würth Group's Central Managing Board in 2004 and became its chairman in 2005.

The current Supervisory Board's term will continue until the discharge following the 2017 fiscal year results, i.e. probably until spring 2018. ZF's Supervisory Board is composed of 20 members, half of which are shareholders and the other half are employee representatives. Friedmann was selected at the annual general meeting on December 14, 2016. He had been suggested by the shareholders on the Supervisory Board.
