Julie Tufte, CSP, recently joined TKDA as safety manager. Tufte, a certified safety professional, will help expand TKDA’s in-house safety program and assist clients in developing or managing their own safety programs.
“We are excited to add Julie to our team to support our company-wide safety initiatives,” said Bill Deitner, TKDA’s president and CEO. “As many of our clients build and enhance their safety programs, we are well positioned to assist in this important effort.”
Tufte has worked in the industrial hygiene and safety fields for more than 20 years. She brings a wealth of experience in both the private and public sectors. Her work has included instrumentation and field surveys, analysis, program development, reporting, project management, health and safety consulting, and training employees on procedures and equipment.
“Industrial hygiene and safety tie together well,” Tufte said. “An expert in industrial hygiene will examine potential risks, while a safety manager works to develop a workplace that is free from recognized hazards. I am thrilled to be working with the TKDA staff and management team who all embrace the safety culture.”
Tufte received her Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She served in the Air Force for more than five years, with one tour overseas during Operation Iraqi Freedom. She is a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association, Minnesota Safety Council, and American Society of Safety Engineers.
“I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues on collaborative and cost-effective safety solutions,” Tufte said. “Our main goal is for all employees to go home safely each and every day.”
