Andrew Gardner, a vice president and light rail expert based in Vancouver, Canada, has been named transportation planning practice leader for the West and Canada Units of Mott MacDonald.

A Chartered Engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the development, planning, designing, and financing of major light rail transit projects in Canada, the USA, and the UK, Gardner has worked as both an owner and consultant, and has managed large multidisciplinary design teams. He has extensive experience in developing modern transportation infrastructure using delivery models such as public-private partnerships (P3), Design-Build, and Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Maintain (DBFOM).
Gardner has served as project manager or project director for projects including South of Fraser Rapid Transit (Surrey, British Columbia), Evergreen Line Advanced Rapid Transit (Vancouver, British Columbia), Valley Line (Edmonton, Alberta), Midland Metro Extensions (Birmingham, United Kingdom), Leeds Rapid Transit (Leeds, United Kingdom), and Oxford Street Transit (London, United Kingdom).
