Valerie Jordan, Andrew Perkins and Nina Szlosberg-Landis Join GoTriangle's Board of Trustees
State Transportation Secretary James H. Trogdon III has appointed three North Carolina Department of Transportation board members to the GoTriangle Board of Trustees.
Valerie Jordan, Andrew M. Perkins Jr. and Nina Szlosberg-Landis will become ex officio nonvoting members of GoTriangle’s board, which has 10 other members appointed by municipalities and counties who enact policy for the regional transit agency based in Durham.
Jordan, a native of Warren County and a longtime resident of Raleigh, works as an IBM Global Alliance Partner account manager at Cisco Systems in Research Triangle Park. She is a graduate of North Carolina Central University and earned a master’s of business administration from the Keller Graduate School of Management.
Perkins, assistant vice chancellor for facilities and engineering at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, retired with the rank of colonel from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after 29 years of distinguished service. He received his bachelor’s of science in architecture from Hampton University and his master’s in architecture from the University of Wisconsin. He is also a graduate of The National War College in Washington.
Szlosberg-Landis, a Raleigh resident, has been a leader in communications and civic engagement for more than 25 years. She has been appointed to the boards of various civic organizations, including the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Hillsborough Street Partnership, which she founded. She also founded and is president of Circle Squared Media, a strategic communications consulting firm.
The three NCDOT board members join GoTriangle Board Chairwoman Jennifer Robinson, appointed by the town of Cary; Vice Chairwoman Ellen Reckhow, appointed by Durham County; Secretary Will Allen, appointed by the city of Raleigh; Treasurer Ed Harrison, appointed by the town of Chapel Hill; Mary-Ann Baldwin, appointed by the city of Raleigh; William V. Bell, appointed by the city of Durham; Sig Hutchinson, appointed by Wake County; Barry Jacobs, appointed by Orange County; Wendy Jacobs, appointed by Durham County; and Vivian Jones, appointed by Wake County.
Members serve staggered four-year terms.
