Smart City Expert, Doug Howe, Appointed as Chief Technology Officer for Vix Technology
Vix Technology has announced the recent appointment of Doug Howe, who has joined the executive team as chief technology officer (CTO).
With a career spanning some 25 years, Howe has garnered a wealth of experience and expertise that have resulted in his leading complex technology deliveries for renowned players across the global travel, transit & payments industries.
Prior to taking up this position, Howe headed up Smart City innovations for Mastercard in both Australia and New Zealand which, most notably, included the successful delivery of the Contactless payments pilot in Sydney.

Among his milestone achievements, Howe’s 5-year consultancy role with Transport for New South Wales, Australia, saw him steer the program delivery of the Opal card, to successful delivery on time and within budget.
While living in France, Howe managed a geographically dispersed engineering team to transform several bespoke Rail Reservations systems into a globally scalable, multi-tenant cloud product, integrated with Amadeus GDS (Global Distribution System). His work with Amadeus not only further showcases his outstanding ability to deliver innovation-led projects within the Transport sector, but also demonstrates his leadership qualities that have transferred seamlessly across a truly international landscape.
In addition, having sat on the Australian TAP (Ticketing Authorities Partnership), he also has an in depth understanding of transport customer needs. He is considered to be an innovative thought leader across the globe and is regularly invited to speak at Smart City & Transport Ticketing events.
