Dewberry Promotes Ronald Jakominich, Ross Burhouse III, and Mark Brewer
Dewberry has announced the promotions of Ronald Jakominich, PE, to associate vice president; Ross Burhouse III, PE, to senior associate; and Mark Brewer, PE, to associate in the firm’s Fairfax, Virginia, office.
Jakominich has more than 21 years of experience as a civil and transportation engineer. He is an expert in rail and roadway design, design-build, and preparation of construction documents, including horizontal and vertical alignments, drainage and signal design, maintenance of traffic design, and cost estimating.
In his new role as associate vice president, he serves as design engineer and has contributed to several notable transportation projects, including the Route 28 Corridor Improvements, in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties, Virginia, and the Dulles Corridor Metrorail in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties, Virginia.
Jakominich earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Villanova University (1995). He is a professional engineer in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, and a member of the Design-Build Institute of America.
As a senior structural engineer with more than 20 years of experience, Burhouse is responsible for the design and analysis of highway and rapid transit bridges, and associated highway structures. His bridge design experience varies from pre-stressed concrete beam bridges to curved steel flyover ramps and multi-span plate girder bridges.
In his new role as senior associate, he is providing design expertise to the Interstate 64 capacity improvement project in Yorktown, the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties, the widening of Route 606 in Loudoun County, and the reconstruction of Belmont Ridge Road in Loudoun County.
Burhouse earned his master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Maryland (2001) and his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Princeton University (1996). He is a professional engineer in Virginia and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Brewer has been with the firm for the duration of his 10-year career as a transportation engineer. He has extensive knowledge in highway and public road design and specializes in widening and realignment, highway interchanges, and maintenance of traffic designs.
As an associate and transportation engineer, his responsibilities include geometric design development, roadway surface drainage, 3-D design for site and roadway, and utility relocation designs. Recently, he has served as a resource for developing alternative technical concepts for designs that have produced more economical transportation configurations for the public.
Brewer earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Virginia (2007) and is a professional engineer in Virginia.
