David Braun Named Transdev North America Vice President of Business Development for Rail
Transdev has announce the promotion of David Braun from vice president of business development of the Northeast Region to vice president of business development for rail. He will be responsible for expanding the portfolio of Transdev's North American leading streetcar, light rail and other rail operations into new markets.
“David's knowledge of all aspects of transportation, from paratransit and fixed-route service to rail and streetcar networks, make him the ideal choice to grow this critical cornerstone of our multi-modal business model,” said Transdev's Executive Vice President for Business Development Dick Alexander. “Our leadership team is looking forward to seeing how David will help us continue to deliver solutions and innovations to our clients.”
Braun’s intimate knowledge of the transit industry has grown by serving in numerous capacities in various transit agencies — in operations, management and business development — for nearly 30 years. For the last five years, Braun has helped Transdev secure major streetcar contracts in Cincinnati, Detroit and, most recently, Milwaukee. Braun has also been responsible for helping the company acquire many new flagship contracts in the North American portfolio for varying modes of service.
Before joining Transdev in 2013, Braun served as vice president of paratransit services for American Logistics, a national passenger transportation management company. Prior to that he spent 22 years at First Transit, growing from senior management roles at multiple locations to director of business development.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public and Environmental Affairs from Indiana University and a Masters of Business Administration from Bradley University.
