Westmatic Corporation Announces New President

Stephen Wawro has been appointed president, Westmatic Corporation located at 485 Cayuga Road, Buffalo, New York.

Stephen Wawro has been appointed president, Westmatic Corporation located at 485 Cayuga Road, Buffalo, New York. A graduate of Canisius College, Wawro joined Westmatic in 2010. His role since joining the company has been to spearhead sales and marketing efforts in support of the growth of Westmatic’s U.S. and Canadian companies. Wawro was most recently executive vice president/sales manager for the U.S. company. 

The Westmatic Group is a Global company headquartered in Arvika, Sweden with companies in the U.S. and Canada. Westmatic was formed in 1974 by Jan Sundell who designed the first large vehicle wash system and who remains active in the company today. Westmatic wash systems are designed to clean trucks and fleets, public transit and school buses, as well as freight, passenger trains, light rail and rapid transit.  Westmatic wash systems have been installed in over 3,000 locations worldwide. The U.S. sales office was established in 2005 and a full production facility was opened in Buffalo in 2008. Johanna Sundell, the previous president of Westmatic Corporation, has relocated to California to establish a Sales and Service structure to better serve Westmatic’s West Coast customers. Sundell will remain active in supporting the U.S. as well as the Canadian and Swedish companies.

The company recently increased its manufacturing and office space at the Cayuga Road location with plans for future expansion in 2018. The company currently has 28 employees handling design, manufacturing, production, sales and service support, and equipment installation for the U.S. market. All machines sold in the United States are manufactured in Buffalo and the Company is in full compliance with the Department of Transportation’s “Buy America” requirements. Buy America provisions ensure that transportation infrastructure projects are built with American-made products.
