Gannett Fleming has announced that Jeffrey Weiss has joined the company as a senior tolling consultant in the Transportation Operations Global Business Line. Based in New York, he will lead Gannett Fleming’s tolling consulting services.
“Jeff has an excellent reputation in the tolling industry,” said Keith Mullins, PE, a Gannett Fleming vice president and project principal in transportation operations. “He has gained unprecedented respect from a wide array of clients and colleagues and his experience with tolling agencies complements what we already offer. He will strengthen Gannett Fleming’s position in the areas of asset management, connected and autonomous vehicles, smart cities, data analytics, and software and business intelligence.”
Weiss brings to Gannett Fleming nearly 20 years of transportation consulting experience, with a focus on toll technology and back office development and operation. He most recently worked for a leading firm as project manager for the North Carolina and Oklahoma Turnpike Authorities. He was responsible for overall management and coordination of project deliverables. Some of his most notable accomplishments include the initial planning for the Monroe Expressway in North Carolina and the Golden Gate Bridge All Electronic Tolling (AET) Conversion.
Weiss earned a Master of Science in technology management from Marist College in New York and a Bachelor of Science in history from The College at Brockport, State University of New York. He serves as an organizer and moderator of conference sessions for the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA) and has worked with IBTTA to broaden the scope of IBTTA presentations. His most notable presentations include Pay by Plate on the Golden Gate, presented to IBTTA’s AET, Managed Lanes and Technology Summit and Getting a Return from Your Violation Image Rejects, presented to the IBTTA Violation Enforcement Summit.
“The entrepreneurial spirit that embodies Gannett Fleming, the commitment to personal and professional growth, and the ability to provide thought leadership and expertise in an ever-changing technical landscape is very attractive and aligns with my own professional goals,” said Weiss.
