Ted Lachus, P.E., a manager with more than 35 years of experience overseeing major road, highway and rail projects throughout Illinois, has joined STV as a vice president in the firm’s Transportation & Infrastructure Division. He will head the firm’s Chicago office.
In this role, Lachus will focus on STV’s continued expansion in the Midwest region and manage the planning, study and design of major transportation projects. STV is currently managing the design and construction of several municipal and state transportation projects throughout the region, including a 50-mile section of the Illinois High Speed Rail program and the rehabilitation of historic bridges and underpasses in Chicago’s Montrose Harbor.
Prior to joining STV, Lachus oversaw major transportation projects in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin for a local consultancy firm. Project highlights included the rehabilitation of the Veterans Memorial Tollway in DuPage County, Illinois, and the reconstruction and widening of the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway in Cook and Kane Counties, Illinois.
Lachus is a registered professional engineer in Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies, the Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association, and the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association.
