Charles Edwards Promoted to Director of Transportation
The Central Ohio Transit Authority announced that effective, Monday, Oct. 22, Charles Edwards has been promoted to the position of director of transportation.
Edwards first began working at COTA in 1998 as an operator. Throughout his tenure, he has served as a transportation services supervisor and most recently as superintendent of transportation. He served as a member of both the Safe Operations Accidents PIC Committee and Accidents Appeals Committee. In addition, he was a part of COTA’s Leaders of the Future Program in 2015. He currently serves on the Customer Service Committee.
“Charles has demonstrated an incredible skillset for innovation, development of staff and overall vision for the future of transit. Charles has been recognized by his peers, both internally and externally, for his ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative manner to accomplish numerous initiatives. We are extremely excited for the leadership and direction that he will provide as Director of Transportation,” said Chief of Transit Operations Matthew Allison.
Edwards is looking forward to using existing technology to build upon COTA’s foundation of high quality service to its customers.
“I’m humbled by the opportunity to work at the next level, yet excited about the future of transit and finding creative ways to meet central Ohio’s transportation needs,” said Edwards.
