Urban’s Kenneth R. Fulmer Wins 2018 Globy Award for Corporate Leadership
Urban Engineers has announced that firm president and CEO, Kenneth R. Fulmer, PE, was given the Corporate Leadership Award by the Global Philadelphia Association at its fourth Annual Luncheon and Globy Awards ceremony. The Globy Awards recognize and honor Philadelphia leaders who contribute to the city’s global stature.
“It is truly an honor to receive this award from a great organization like Global Philadelphia,” Fulmer said. “As a national firm headquartered in here Philadelphia, it is important to Urban that the hard work that goes into preserving our region's heritage is celebrated, and Global Philadelphia does a great job sharing our city with the world.”
Fulmer has successfully helped to strengthen Urban Engineers' regional and national profile. The firm has led iconic projects in the Philadelphia region, including Dilworth Park, the Center City Commuter Tunnel, and the Rail Park. Nationally, Urban has made key contributions to recent, notable projects, including New York City's Second Avenue Subway. Fulmer joined Urban Engineers full-time in 1992 after previously completing a co-op term. He worked his way up to several leadership roles, and currently manages all aspects of the firm’s operations, while helping maintain Urban’s culture of and service sponsorships.
The Globys have established themselves as a preeminent occasion, where outstanding accomplishments with international implications are recognized in five categories: Educational Leadership; Historical and Cultural Preservation Leadership; Community Leadership; Corporate Leadership; and Lifetime Achievement.
