San Diego MTS asks for public feedback with COVID-19 survey

The transit agency is collecting feedback on rider and community attitude about transit during the pandemic.

A survey to gauge rider and community attitude toward public transit amidst the COVID-19 pandemic is being administered by the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS).

The online survey is available in English and Spanish, and will be open through June 15.

“COVID-19 has shifted so much of the way our communities operate, including public transportation,” said MTS Board Chair and County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher. “The findings in the survey will help the MTS Board and executive leadership make important decisions on the direction of our transit system moving forward given our current public health reality.”

The survey asks for feedback on safety measures that are most important to riders amidst COVID-19, what new technologies they would most like to see on board and more.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, MTS has increased cleaning protocols on vehicles and at stations, added handwashing units at trolley stations, implemented rear door boarding and more to help combat the spread of the disease.
